Biography

"Jan Spillane is an energetic, true southern troubadour from Savannah, GA with a degree in understanding that if you're not feeling it then don't do it. Fusing together folk, blues, country and a touch of jazz, she literally sounds like no one else and is equally proficient on guitar and piano. She is a great performer, and her music is timeless."

Spillane plays original music performing solo, as a duo or with her band, Jan Spillane & The Wayfinders. "She has the tenacity of a hard working blues diva, releasing four impressive albums" with her 5th in the making "Blue Canvas" set to be released in 2011. Additionally, her new single, "Good as Gold" is set to be released in the fall of 2010. She is an active member of ASCAP, AMA, NSAI, & NARAS and her most recent accomplishment in 2008/2009, was landing her song, "If looks could Kill” as a promo on one of Showtime Cable Networks popular TV Series “The L Word” which gained her national and international attention. Other credits include: 2007 Single song publishing contract with AhHa Music Group on her song "What it's Not", co-written with Wood Newton | 2000 "Time Keeps (Remix)", co-written with Phil Hadaway and John Graham, featured alongside Rod Stewart's "Forever Young" song on a video, titled "100 Years of Tybee Island" | 1999 "A lady knows when to Leave" voted one of the best R&B songs by Billboard Magazine's World Competition | 1982 Winner of vocal competition which led to singing the Miller Commercial "Welcome to Miller Time".

ANNIE ALLMAN is one talented lady. From Louisiana to Chicago to Georgia, she's a multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar, bass, & percussion and cousin to Greg Allman (The Allman Brothers). Her style is energetic with a pure Chicago blues sound.

BEN WELLS is a songwriter, performer, and studio guitarist. His style is a combination of country and blues with that nice feel of B.B. King meets Vince Gill.

CAROLINE VERNER is a native of Savannah, GA with a degree in journalism. She's a poet, a writer of short stories and also a songwriter.

Dennis Braun
DENNIS BRAUN (DENNY) is a seasoned saxophone player from Missiouri. He has performed with Chuck Berry as well as some of the top Jazz/Blues Crooners in and out of the country.

DIANA GIBSON KELLEY is originally from Northwest Indiana and currently lives in Nashville as a full-time songwriter. She won the grand prize NSAI/CMT Song Competition for her song "Hard to Stumble" which landed her a single song publishing contract with Ah-Ha Music Group.

JACK SHERMAN is a Los Angeles studio guitarist and songwriter who was formerly a member of The Red Hot Chili Peppers. He has worked with notable artists including Bob Dylan, George Clinton, Peter Case, John Hiatt, etc.

JOHN BANKS is a songwriter, performer, & studio guitarist. He has performed with and shared stage with notable artists including Ben E. King, Ray Charles, Bob Hope, Herbie Mann, Johnny Winter, George Jones, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, etc. He was also guitarist and music director for Liam Reilly of the Irish supergroup Bagatelle touring Europe and recording ablums with Liam Reilly, Harry O'Donaghue, and Hawaii's, Willie K.

MARC CORDRAY is a studio and performing percussionist/drummer earning a baccalaureate degree from Berklee School of Music. He went on to complete his graduate studies at the New England Conservatory where he studied with a few great jazz musicians including Bob Moses and Dave Holland. Marc has accompanied many jazz, rock, blues, funk, R&B, americana, country, and orchestral groups locally and nationally. Versatility is the key to this young man. MICHAEL MCDOUGALD started playing music at age 5. Playing lead guitar and bass, he swept through the southeast playing every nightclub on the map with Southern Rock Bands including, Nobody's Baby, Cry Wolf, High Velocity, etc. He was lead guitarist for Jan Spillane for over 20 years and is also known for playing bass.

MIKE STEWART has been a front line soldier in the world of songwriting and recordings in Nashville for over 20 years. Mike has recorded with artists such as Delbert McClinton, Buddy Guy, Hank Williams, Jr., etc. He has written hit songs for Ronnie Milsap, the Pointer Sisters and signed an exclusive songwriting contract with the great Quincy Jones.

PHIL MCDONALD began his music career in his early teens touring with legendary blue-eyed soul singer, Mitch Ryder. Upon returning to the states, Phil has worked with notable artists including Jimmy Hunter, Steven Lee, Eric Morgenson, and John Harden (formerly with Iggie Pop/Andy Frazier of Free).

STAN WEBB has numerous hits including George Jones "One Of These Days But Not Tonight", which landed him the award for SESAC's most promising country writer, to Tracy Byrds "I'm From the Country which he received SESAC's Legacy Award for his most successful song to date. He is one of three song writers to receive the Legacy Award in 75 years. Stan has continued to get cuts by artists including T.G. Shepard, Terri Gibbs, Pam Tillis, etc. Stan also had one of his songs, "Drawn to the Fire" land a spot in the motion picture Thelma & Louise; the song was co-written with Pam Tillis.

STEVE NELSON is a two-time winner of the SESAC Americana Music Award, receiving an Emmy nomination for Sesame Street and scored two Emmy-Winning TV series, and contributed to the recent Grammy-nominated Guy Clark album, "Workbench Songs". He's written "Songbird" for Barbara Streisand, "Walkin' Man" which he co-wrote with Guy Clark.

SUSAN MONTANARI is a native of Savannah, GA and currently lives in Connecticut. She is a writer of children's books, a poet and a songwriter.

Theresa L. Everett
THERESA EVERETT hails from the Lonestar State of Texas. She was a child prodigy at the age of 4 picking up the violin and piano before she could even read and since, gone on to master the guitar. From Texas to Nashville she was lead singer and songwriter with her band "Plain Silver Band" and opened for artists including Chubby Checker, Arlo Guthrie, Asleep at the Wheel, Steve Wariner, etc. Theresa has also played guitar with Keith Urban, Nickelcreek, etc. She currently resides in Nashville, TN and continues to write great songs.

TOMMY BUTLER is originally from Elizabethtown, NC and currently lives in Nashville, TN....He is a fine studio musician and tours extensively, playing pedal steel guitar, lap steel, dobro, and bass guitar for some of the who's who in the music industry. You can hear some of Tommy's work on Jan's "Painting the Blues" CD.

WOOD NEWTON has numerous hit songs with a number of artists including Steve Warnier along with one of his recent hits performed by David Ball "Riding With Private Malone". He also has hits with Willie Nelson, George Jones, Alabama, Charlie Pride, Kenny Rogers, Joe Diffie, Tracy Byrd, Tanya Tucker and his list goes on. Wood and Jan have written numerous songs together including cuts off Jan's "Thinking out Loud" CD.
